Wicked Winter’s Wonderless

image

The cold wind whips wickedly and the trees shudder, howling in protest.
Icicles like diamond daggers dangle, shimmer, winter’s royal crest.

Darkness settles anxiously all around, dimming sunshine…spirit…life.
Breath is frozen, feeling fingers and toes no more, the cold cuts like a knife.

The clouds amass shattering stillness swiftly with snowfall so dense.
Sounds drowned by the thick heaviness of a wicked winter’s wonderless.

Frosty flurries flutter between blizzard blasts, almost tantalizing beauty.
Hibernation in warmth, wishing winter away, though it’s only doing its duty.

For, this too shall pass, as the circle continues cycling, coming full tilt.
Spring , bringing life, light, luminance to the land Mother Nature built.
